The Mazda CX-9 appeared as one of the best-looking crossovers in its category back in 2016, and it’s even today looking pretty fresh. On these grounds, There is no any significant changes in the 2019 Mazda CX-9, but there are a few upgrades and slightly change in MSRP.
Technically, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 remains the same as the current 2018 model. That means you still get a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter SkyActiv engine and a whopping 310 lb-ft of torque which comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engineers focused on improving the CX-9’s driving experience for the upcoming model year. In light of this, they’ve re-tuned the suspension for a smoother and more peaceful ride. The company also includes thicker floor mats and headliner to precisely reduce the amount of noise inside the cabin.
Mazda’s flagship crossover is still available in four trim levels: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature. Every individual trim level of 2019 Mazda CX-9 also gets some new features and options. The Sports trim adds the former Power Driver’s seat, heated front seats and mirrors, lane-keep assist and departure warning, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. The Touring trim receives the fewest new features with its only new addition, besides the infotainment, being a frameless rearview mirror, 12-speaker Bose audio, and navigation system. The Grand Touring trim gets the 7-inch configurable TFT screen in the instrument panel, along with new power side mirrors and a 360-degree camera system. The top-level Signature trim features rosewood interior trim, new badges, Auburn Nappa leather seats, and accent lighting in the grille and around the shifter.
Mazda officially announced its plans to offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in their Touring and above trim levels.
The 2019 Mazda CX-9 will hit dealership lots at the selected dealers this month and nationwide in September. It starts from $32,280 with FWD, a $150 premium over the base 2018 Mazda CX-9, or $34,080 with AWD. You can see the entire price list and changes below.
